International Student Organization (ISO)

The ISO is owned and operated by international students.

It is dedicated to enrich the lives of international students by organizing a number of entertainment events, tours to landmark areas in Canada, providing leardership and involvement opportunities, and offering a variety of workshops, counselling and other services. 

Furthermore, it strives to voice the concerns of international students, promote cultural adversity, and build bridges between international students and domestic students.

International Student Advisor

The International Student Advisor (ISA) will help international grad students with, among other things, immigration matters, advisor-student relationships, personal advising, financial assistance, and family issues.

English Language Support at Guelph

English Language Support (Pre-entry)

The English Language Programs at OpenEd offer English language learners an opportunity to develop their language ability, academic skills and overall understanding of Canadian culture before entry into degree programs. Our programs have been developed to meet the English language requirements of international students entering undergraduate and graduate degree programs at the University of Guelph.

Our English language programs:

• Help international students develop lifelong skills that can be applied to a range of professional, academic and social contexts
• Prepare students to become independent, critical and reflective language learners who use effective learning strategies
• Provide learner-centred opportunities that promote student well-being
• Reflect an understanding that language and culture are mutually dependent

English Language Support for Registered Students

The Library offers dedicated assistance to students with English as an additional language (EAL). If you are a registered student in a degree program, a post-doctoral student, or a visiting scholar/researcher, you can access the Library's EAL one-on-one consultations, workshops, and programs.
